I like the fact that half of the comments on the article's page imply this was pre-meditated.

"Credit for originality."

Besides, I though it was illegal to fire a gun in suburban areas?

I feel a little sorry for the wife for marrying an idiot like that. I don't think not using guns as substitutes for power tools is something that a normal person would have to clarify before marriage.

In most places it is unless it's self-defense or in designated areas for gun practise.

Love of Cable/Satellite TV: the root of all evil?

I knew there were gun regulations in the US, just for circumstances like this. Guess it's only illegal if you get caught (which he was). Punished by his own stupidity, but the law won't be lenient because of that.

It's not that people in America are any more messed up or stupid than those in other countries. It's that America has a greater population (more idiots), access to dangerous materials (explosives, guns, long streches of road) and greater media coverage (idiocy gets out more).

If Britain or France allowed guns and the like, you'd read more of this stuff everyday, from all over the world.

It's a stereotype. America is full of stupid rednecks, France is full of white flag waving surrender monkeys who have a weak military, England is full of stuck up tea swilling know it alls, and everybody in Canada has at least two teeth missing from playing hockey, eh?

Keep in mind these are just the stereotypes I've come across. I'm not saying these are my personal beliefs.

you know its funny you should say that. Coming from a person who has lived in all the above mentioned countries barring Canada (so ill refrain from commenting on that one) Its quite an accurate analysis you've made there.
